A gem easily overlooked. Great comfort food. Some of the best chicken n dumplings I have ever eaten. Go out of their way to give great service. Ate breakfast here once and asked for some chicken n dumplings to go. Waitress checked to see if they were made yet and they were so I was able to take an order to go for lunch. Great job. Good business sense.
Some of the best down home, mom-and-pop style country cooking you will ever have! The decor inside is rustic and sweet. Wooden tables in a small town with really sweet employees taking care of you. I stopped here on my way to Memphis from Nashville, and had a country ham breakfast with eggs and grits. The biscuits that came with it were huge and flaky buttery. The young lady working there was awesome and I would highly recommend this place to anybody traveling through here! Family friendly with rustic old-time décor. Easy access off the interstate.
The service was excellent. I had the meatloaf it was good. My wife had the hot roast beef and said it was better than her mom's and that's a statement! I was disappointed in the turnip greens.
It’s super difficult to find a decent place to eat while on the road. Glad that we came by the Log Cabin. The food was great, we had chicken dumplings and you can choose 3 sides. I felt like I’m home at a family dinner. It even reminded me of my childhood: the decor, the family atmosphere, and the food my grandmother used to cook ^_^ and you can buy at them some local goodies, we’ve got raw honey
When I'm in Waverly visiting family I make sure I stop here to get my real country food craving fix. It's real southern food, real southern sweet tea. I always get a pie to go when I go to, that coconut cream pie is the real deal. The potatoes seemed to be instant and the greens were so so but still worthy of a 5 star rating!
